The Camposol Fiesta first came about in April 2005. The whole event was put together in little under a month at virtually zero cost. Unfortunately this was reflected in the day itself which, by todays standard, was a very low key affair. Camposol deserved better and a Fiesta committee was formed to put together the 2006 event. This was much better organised and saw the first of our truly ''spectacular'' fireworks displays put together then, as now, by Jose Alberola Rodriguez from Godlla in Valencia. 2006 also saw the first hog roast in Camposol to serve over 1000 visitors to the Fiesta! Unfortunately the people, who were instrumental in organising that Fiesta, left that particular organising group and it was decided by those remaining that there was no interest in putting on a fiesta in 2007 and 2008.

So it was that early in 2008, I woke up one morning and in a fit of total 'madness', decided to phone around some of my friends and previous organisers to suggest we form a Fiestas Camposol committee. All five readilly agreed and June 2009 was born! Judging by the subsequent comments, the whole weekend was a fantastic success with total and sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make it so. To the future, we are now a fully registered Association and have been recognised in the Municipality of Mazarron as an official Fiesta to take place during the last weekend in June each year. The committee has gone from 6 members last year to nine this and already the 'new blood' has brought a fantastic vibrancy to this years agenda. Watch this space!
